Vida Wellness Spas Open in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, August 1, 2002 – Vida Wellness Spa, a new and innovative spa brand emphasizing health and healing, will open with Vida Wellness Spa, Vancouver Wall Centre, and Vida Wellness Spa, Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
Vida Wellness Spas will offer a top quality spa experience with a unique menu of services and spa Products designed to balance the body, mind and spirit. The spa's treatments and design elements were carefully chosen to reflect Vida's philosophy of a healthy and nurturing environment.

A new Vida spa product line using the advanced Chiral technology will be introduced into Vida Wellness Spas. Based on this new technology, guests of the spa will see fewer skin reactions and increased results. Many of the Vida services offered will incorporate the new Vida spa line including the Ginger and Lemon Grass Wrap created to boost the immune system, increase metabolism and improve circulation.
Vida Wellness Spa, Vancouver Wall Centre, will officially open its doors on August 20, 2002. Vida Wellness Spa, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, formerly the Spa at Chateau Whistler, will incorporate the new Vida spa brand October 22, 2002.
The Name: Vida is the Spanish translation for life, which embodies what Vida Wellness Spa works to represent. Vida embraces the understanding that with health, there is life, and a better appreciation of all that life has to offer.
The Philosophy: The Vida Wellness Spa philosophy is based on the belief that true wellness is about the balance of inner calm, outer vitality, sensory pleasure, and spiritual health. Dedicated to helping guests achieve and maintain this balance, Vida Wellness Spas go beyond the traditional spa experience with one that takes a holistic approach to health and healing.
The Treatments: Vida Wellness Spa treatments work to blend the ancient Indian principles of Ayurveda together with modern practices to ensure that each guest receives a personalized treatment that meets their individual needs. Both Vida spas will offer a similar menu of services including the following treatments:
Swedana Steam Treatment
The Swedana treatment starts with a relaxing Ayurvedic massage using warm customized essential oils to promote blood movement and lymph circulation. Following the massage, the guest is placed in a handcrafted West Coast cedar steam cabinet. In the steam cabinet, steam is focused on the body to promote the loosening and elimination of toxins, while the head is kept cool to help relax the mind. To further assist with detoxification, the cabinet is infused with a herbal mixture customized for the individual's composition. This is followed by a dry flour brushing to further exfoliate the skin and prevent toxins from re-entering the body.
Deep Learning Massage
The Deep Learning Massage reduces pain, relieves tension and restores balance with stretching exercises that deepen the understanding of the body's function. Each educational session ends with a consultation to help the guest devise a long-term wellness plan.
